Trump’s Proposed Restructuring of the Federal Government, excerpts

Delivering Government Solutions in the 21st Century: Reform Plan and Reorganization Recommendations” was released today by the Trump Administration.  There is nothing in this document which surprises me.  It’s consistent with this administrations stated views on economics, global relations, education, social programs, and private business.

Economics should be driven by always going for the fast buck, whatever it takes.  We saw this in the “Infrastructure plan,” which actually had very little to do with infrastructure and everything to do with parceling out federal land to private companies and slashing regulation willy-nilly to “increase efficiencies.”

Global relations are based on the concept of spending considerably less to forestall catastrophes, and spending more on reacting to the consequences through either self-imposed isolation or military force.

Education should require less money and more privatization.  Less emphasis on advanced degrees and scientific research and more of a streamlined approach to funneling people into short-term vo-tech studies for immediate deployment into the workforce of a resource-driven economy.

Social Programs should be cut as a rule.  More roadblocks should be placed to hinder access.  Census data should be maintained as both a watchful eye on the populous and a threat to immigrants.

Private business can never be lavished with enough attention.  Especially in oil, coal and gas.  Real estate development gets a special nod and maintaining the wealth through special LLC taxbreaks and the elimination of the inheritance tax to really juice up the ever increasing disparity between the rich and the poor.

This Federal reorganization plan is the latest installment of the Trumpist ideology that we have seen in every policy, both minor and major, that they have attempted to initiate.  I do not suspect much, if any of this, is going to go over well with Congress.  There are some arguments to be made for efficiencies for sure; perhaps some small consolidations of duplicated effort is needed.  What this document presents in the form of “recommendations,” is no small undertaking and by-and-large is ideologically driven nonsense.

Merge the Dept of Labor with the Dept of Education.

ba318e35-c2dd-4630-be61-e3595dc866f9.png

At first blush, this seems entirely insane, and guess what?  It is.  The main concept here is a conveyor belt from k-12 to immediate placement in the workforce, as if that is the singular and only important action of education.  Here, education is viewed as the vehicle by which the “product” is most effectively delivered to it’s end goal: immediate employment and that product is tracked along the way.  Special attention to be paid to “career and technical training”.

This merger would create a cacophony of problems too great to list.  There’s a reason why these departments have little to do with each other.  Their focuses are quite different.  Whereas the Education Dept. is budgeted for overseeing the quality of education at all levels, the Dept of Labor has a wide portfolio of: unemployment insurance, office of disability, veterans services, and an entire, and very vital, umbrella of worker’s protections and safety.

Here are some buried tidbits the Trump administration would like to go about quashing involvement with higher education through “efficiencies” in this document:

Consolidation, elimination.  Less complex programs first.

Privatization.

For someone willing to place tariffs on steel and aluminum because they pose a threat to our National safety, this administration seems really keen on turning over vital components of the country to private enterprise. The US Postal system, Air traffic control, and utilities.  Also included in this document was the privatization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  I didn’t copy any of that to this post.

Reduce global programs.  Somehow encourage private sector involvement….like real estate development in N. Korea?  : P

It’s not hard to read this and come away with an inkling of nefarious intent.  Were it any other administration, we might just say…spending less is a truly awful idea, but with this administration, we can read how these are worded, and clearly see this administration would like to use foreign aid as a cudgel to attack others with.  “You aren’t doing as we say, then fuck you!”  A special cudgel wave at the UN in these passages, “Either do as we say or you can forget it.”

Consolidate the Census Bureau with other governmental data analysis entities.  A truly dreadful idea.  There’s a reason why the Census Bureau has a firewall of rules and protective laws around it, to prevent the very thing that this administration would like to do with that data.  the justification, once again is “cost effectiveness,” and “synergies,” all while protecting us from the burdens.

The census was created purely to count what is, nothing else.  It’s not data that should be federally combined and cross-referenced with anything else and data-mined for any governmental purpose.  Where that would lead to is some truly dark places.

Consolidate Dept of Energy’s Applied Energy programs in with all other federal programs involving studies in energy.

Did you read all of that?  You should.  basically what it says is this:  There shouldn’t be widespread research done on energy and energy sources, all of this needs to be combined.  We shouldn’t spend any undue amount of effort on researching any particular types of energy, like say…renewable energies.  We should look at them all at once, and whichever one is likely to generate the most money RIGHT NOW, is the one we should concentrate on, like maybe- coal, oil, and gas as just a random example.

Selling Federal lands to private enterprise.

The federal Government should just be able to sell land, period.  We should remove the legal barriers around such activities that require research or reason or a necessity of replacement or any constraints.

The Trump Economy

The unemployment rate which Trump attributes to tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.  Looks like this:

Let’s just sidestep the issue of what the unemployment rate actually counts, aside from that, the chart looks pretty good, right?

Trump’s tax cuts for the super wealthy is truly a miracle worker!!!  The same declining chart will be found in most every advanced economy.  Trump is a fucking genius for having affected all the major economies of the world!!!

Seriously, it’s a global trend from 2016-2018, and has exactly jack-shit to do with Trump’s gift to the wealthy.  The overall numbers are different but the trends are so similar you could practically overlay them.

It’s idiotic to say amendments to taxation have an measurable economic effect in the year which they are enacted.  Ridiculous.  These chickens won’t come home to roost until next year at the earliest.  If all things remain as they are, we will not see the full economic effect of US tax cuts until 2020 and beyond…at which point, cult members will be free to blame it on Democrats.  Like many of Trump’s other “policies,” the effects will be felt in years to come and will last a lifetime.

Really, there isn’t any coherent policy with this administration, aside from gathering as much cash as quickly as possible for certain sectors, donors, and the Trump family.  This administrations “policies”  more closely resemble a monkey slapping a keyboard.  For the clearest analogy into what Trump means to the US economy, look into how he single-handedly destroyed the USFL, merrily abusing the cheerleaders the whole time, and walked away from the wreckage without a care in the world.  That will give you particular insight into the nonsensical things he is doing with international trade and diplomacy.

Stock buy-backs (what we all knew was going to happen with all that fabulous cash).

A record setting $178 Billion in the first quarter of this alone.

Michael Patcher, an analyst at Wedbush Securities: “The tax law didn’t do anything to provide an incentive to employers to create jobs. There’s nothing in there that would suggest that employers have a particular incentive to hire more people or pay the ones that they have more money.”

Total S&P 500 shareholder payouts — buybacks plus dividends — for the past 12 months could top $1 trillion for the first time ever, Silverblatt said.

FANTASTIC.

US companies currently using their tax break for stock buybacks, and enjoying the benefits of inflated stock valuations, will move on to mergers, acquisitions, and “efficiencies” to further boost their paper worth.  None of which has to do with improved wages and to the contrary, may lead to the shedding of jobs in certain sectors.  Look to the oil, gas, and coal companies, which this administration has shifted the table to at every fucking turn they can, to begin finding some value from their increased stock prices.  Also banking, which gets a special nod with relaxed regulation, and which was already sitting on record piles of cash before this administration threw them gorgeous piles of more cash.  Entertainment, multimedia, internet companies already sitting pretty have their slice of the pie too to play with if net neutrality remains in place.  These are the winners in the Trump Economy.

Wages.  There has been some slight improvement in average wages lately, but the reason being is because people are working more hours, not because their pay increased.  You’ll notice none of those nifty, tax-cut, cash handouts to employees had anything to do with increased wages.  They were nice for the very small percentage of employees that received them, sure, but no ones standard of living improved and won’t until their wages rise.   If we take a look at non-managerial pay rates per hour, it’s been stagnant since Trump got in office.

28256704-fc37-4593-8f5c-ab5b1b65d799.png

The labor market is tight, and menial jobs that could be filled via relaxed immigration are being attacked through exactly the opposite approach.  For the rest of us, it is possible that we may find a new job easier, but finding a job from which we can effectively survive, has not become any easier.  It’s not likely that is going to change in the Trump economy.

The squeeze on the working poor.  According to the annual report issued this week by the National Low Income Housing Coalition, anyone working full-time at minimum wage cannot afford any housing anywhere in the US.  As it is, Someone working for minimum wage would have to work 122 hours a week in order to afford housing and basic necessities..like food.  Another study found that number too high and pegged it at 99 hours a week, or- two and a half full time jobs.

Add to this, the administrations efforts to undermine the availability and affordability of healthcare, the tightening of availability of nutritional assistance for the poor, and reduction in HUD effort to make housing affordable- and we are looking at a societal catastrophe in the making.

“Rather than address the affordable housing crisis, the administration’s proposed spending cuts for FY19 would, if enacted, lead to the largest reduction in affordable housing and community development investments in decades. The proposed budget could lead to more than 200,000 families losing vital federal rental assistance and to the elimination of programs that support state and local efforts to address their housing needs (NLIHC, 2018a). For the limited number of families that receive federal housing assistance, recent proposals by the administration threaten to undermine their housing stability.
The administration seeks to cut housing benefits by imposing rent increases and arbitrary work requirements. The administration proposes increasing tenants’ contributions toward rent from 30% of adjusted household income to 35% of gross household income, eliminating deductions for medical and childcare expenses, and tripling minimum rents on non-disabled households from $50 per month to $150. These reforms would result in an average rent increase of 44% on households with housing assistance (Fischer, 2018).”

Guess Which states are being hit the worst between average wages and average
housing costs are?

260b77f9-7ba7-41f3-88a1-dd4c1599f6cf.png

Sucks to live in a blue state, huh?  This disparity does partially explain why some higher paying jobs in economically advanced blue states can’t seem to get filled- because people can’t afford to live there in this economy.

Good luck finding anyone to work in entry level jobs, the service sector, and general labor sectors in all of the major cities because you’re fucking screwed.

Trump’s Longing for Authoritarian Rule

Trump longs for uncontested authoritarian rule of the United States.  His desire is often overtly evident.  He says it.  If you ask Sarah Sanders, the usual responses are: “He’s joking (get a sense of humor),” or “Clearly what he meant was…”

Why does Trump never challenge any of the world’s dictators on their human rights issues?  His administration will say, “We did address that,” or, “President Trump has clearly brought this issue up on multiple occasions…” but if you look, you can’t find any evidence anywhere that that was ever the case, aside from Niki Haley at the UN.  What you will find is ample evidence of Trump making apologetic excuses for other dictators and even tacitly approving of human rights abuses.

Whereas the nuclear deal with the government of Iran was insufficient for not being comprehensive, any deal with Kim Jung-un doesn’t even have the pretense of being comprehensive.  Not only was the issue of human rights not broached, Kim Jung-un was purposefully lauded with praise for how he runs his country, “So we can be friends,” and “So you don’t have a missile fall on your house.”

There is also ample evidence of nepotism, corruption, self-dealing, and all manner of shenanigans in this administration that are what would be considered symptomatic of autocratic rule.  We have seen Trump act as if the value of human life was trivial unless it could be effectively used as a pawn.  DACA seemed great as a pawn to get his monument to stupidity, until that fell through.  Now, immigrants on the southern border are an acceptable form of leverage for the same monument.  Trump literally sees little value in human life by threatening nuclear war as a “policy,” meant to display how incredibly tough he thinks he is.  Puerto Ricans cost too much.  Minorities should be disenfranchised if it means more votes for Trump and fascists are A-OK, again, if it means more votes for Trump.  LBGTQ folks-you’re out.  Evangelicals are the ruling faith…so long as they tow the line.

Trump has unilaterally declared US policies without any protocol, advisement, or a concern for whom it might “put-out”.  He should just be able to do that kind of thing as far as he’s concerned.  He’s said he’d send the military to the southern border to battle illegal immigration, even though he can do not such thing.  He’ll unilaterally send the national guard to Chicago to combat gun violence.  He’ll get involved with the DOJ and direct them as they should act.  He’s confounded why it is he can not do such things…yet.

He loves the power of the pardon.  Forget the review, or proper way of doing this, he should be able to just snap his fingers and make it so…and he has.  If you have enough clout or prestige or public standing you may also petition the royal court for the opportunity to kiss his ring and ask for a little bit of that pardon magic.  He was benevolent enough to offer this to those that might protest in the NFL.  See what a wise and just leader he is?

Likewise, he should be able to pass death sentences.  He has said this several times.  Testing the waters to see if the public is ready to take that step to full dictatorship.  Are we getting close?

He should be able to run the country into the ground as he sees fit, like he has done with so many of his businesses.  Except in this case, he has guys with guns and tanks and battleships at his disposal. He literally has the lives of million of people in his hands, and it feels fucking great.  So long as Trump receives the adulation he rightly deserves, anything is acceptable to that end.  Anything.

There is the ceaseless praise for Putin, which most recently took form in Trump advocating the return Of Russia to the G7 despite the reason why they are not in the G7, which Trump doesn’t seem to be particularly aware of or even give a fuck about. Here’s 80 times from 2013-early 2017 Trump spoke of Putin, including the blanket apologist statement for Putin killing every adversary that gets in his way, “There are a lot of killers,” Trump says. “Do you think our country is so innocent? Do you think our country is so innocent?” -the same blanket statement he used for Kim Jung-un in June 2018.

Friday March 3, 2017

President Donald Trump bemoaned a decision not to investigate Hillary Clinton after the 2016 presidential election, decrying a “rigged system” that still doesn’t have the “right people” in place to fix it, during a freewheeling speech to Republican donors in Florida on Saturday.  In the closed-door remarks, a recording of which was obtained by CNN, Trump also praised China’s President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn’t mind making such a maneuver himself.

“He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot some day.”

Trump later said at another cult pep rally that he was joking.

Trump has time and time again reveled in talking about MS-13 and his fixation on how, and in what ways, they kill people.  He really enjoys discussing the matter as he did at this pep rally.  Then on to the subject of criminals in general:

“When you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, and I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice,’

“Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody, don’t hit their head, I said, ‘You can take the hand away, OK?’

Sarah Sanders Takes Cunthood to a New Level of Cuntiness

****Added: 11/8/2018 Surprise, Sarah Sanders is still a cunt*****

Sarah Sanders re-establishes herself as a world leader in the art of being a cunt.  Working off of her history of cuntiness (here, here, and here). Sarah Sanders takes her cuntdom to new levels with her favorite whipping boy, Jim Acosta.  Acosta asks Sanders why it is this administration has a policy to remove children from the protection of their parents while seeking asylum.

The answers are:

  1. It’s the law (wrong).
  2. If it were a biblical decree, it would be totally fine to follow such a decree. (Sharia Law must be okay after all).
  3. It’s the Democrats fault. (she says-because they aren’t closing loopholes?)

Where housing children of incarcerated migrant adults is enforceable policy, treating attempted migration whether in it’s illegal form or as those seeking asylum as a de facto criminal offense requiring separation of children from their parents, is a newly decreed policy of Jeffrey Beauregard “Southern Belle” Session III…and not fucking US law.  He clearly enacted this brutality as a deterrence, to make people suffer.  To make them feel the type of psychological pain he’d prefer to have visited upon them.

Sarah “Minister of Propaganda” Sanders uses this opportunity to attempt to make Acosta look stupid and the dissatisfaction of the press corp is evident, when another reporter followed up with some hardcore aggression, standing on his feet and berating Sanders; questioning how could a parent stand there and defend this shitiness.

It was previously reported that Sarah Sanders was slightly less cunty recently in response to a child asking her about guns in school, but let’s not allow that bizarre moment of humanity dissuade us from the understanding that Sarah Sanders is a Grade A cunt.  She’ll say anything to justify the horrors of this administration, even falling back on her “faith” which is nothing more than Space-Santa, corn-fed, bullshit that puts a pleasant and delusionally unassailable facade on absolute evil.
